Instant Pot Beef Bourginon


I made this 8h slow cooker stew in 30 minutes. Here is what you need:

Instant pot
5 slices bacon finely chopped
3 lbs. boneless beef chuck cut into cubes (or prepacked stew beef).
1 cup red cooking wine
2 cups chicken broth
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup flour
3 garlic cloves finely chopped
2 Tablespoons thyme finely chopped
5 medium Carrots sliced
1 pound baby potatoes 
8 ounce fresh mushrooms sliced 9 (or canned)


    1.Lightly cook bacon, remove and toss into Instant pot

    2. Lightly brown beef in the same skillet toss into Instant pot

    3. Combine red cooking wine, chicken broth, tomato sauce, soy sauce and flour in skillet and simmer for 3 minutes.

    4. Chop your vegetables, I cut my potatoes in half, and toss remaining ingredients into instant pot. Add the broth on top.

    5. Cook on stew setting (I let mine sit and keep warm after it finished cooking for 2 hours before we tried it!) But it’s ready in 30 minutes.
